The Earth Hour 2012

Once again, we will be taking part in WWF’s worldwide event The Earth Hour by turning off the lights on the facades of 312 hotels around the world between 8.30pm and 9:30pm on Saturday, 31 March.

The Earth Hour, a Word Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) initiative, is considered the biggest global mobilization campaign against climate change. During one hour, and for the fourth year in a row, we will collaborate with in this global blackout, a gesture expected to save 1,374,491 watts of power output at its hotels.

Isang Litrong Liwanag Project – lighting homes with water

The Biciclown or how to make people laugh all around the world

As well as being a good cyclist, Alvaro is also a professional clown. Combining the
two, he created a project called Miles of Smiles Around the World (MOSAW). MOSAW is a very unique
idea. Alvaro “tickles the world” with his bike, he is an expert in make people laugh! With
MOSAW he has done many performances in 62 different countries.

Menudos Corazones: helping the youngest and their families

Menudos Corazones offers free lodging programmes, as well as psychological and emotional help programmes for affected families, information material about congenital heart disease and entertainment programmes in hospitals and out of the hospital such us summer camps.

Among the integral support programmes for children and teenagers with congenital heart defects and their families, Menudos Corazones includes the following project: free housing in Madrid for the families from other parts of Spain whose children with congenital heart diseases need to be treated in Madrid’s hospitals. And here is where we take action. What can we do to help them in their praiseworthy project? Easy! We could do what we do best: hosting people! And this is the way a collaborating that already lasts 6 years started.

Computer literacy: One laptop per child

One Laptop per Child (OLPC) is a project organised by the One Laptop per Child Association, a U.S. non-profit organization funded by member organizations such as eBay, Google and Red Hat. Its original mission was to develop a low-cost laptop that could change completely the way we understand children’s education.
