The Art of Off-Peak

Just because the summer is drawing to a close doesn’t mean your holidays have to be sacrificed. The end of a busy season means savings across the board. If you’ve got the time and the foresight, there are a number of ways you can take advantage of the off-peak deals that will keep you warm right through to winter.

Check out special deals.

Have a look around for offers from your favourite travel and tourist companies. NH just happens to have some great deals going at the moment, like this one for our hotel in Marbella. On weekends between September and December, you can enjoy great savings and still take advantage of the Costa’s warm weather.

Book early.

The earlier you can plan your holiday, the more you can save. This summer, we held a promotion called The Organizers which awarded up to 15% off our hotel rates around the world to people who booked at least 10 days in advance. While that may not seem like a long time, the later you leave your booking, the more it will certainly cost you.

Buy local.

This applies to much more than simply local food and drink, which you should always support and enjoy. When you’re traveling, it’s a great idea to explore local businesses, shops, restaurants… supporting the local community as much as possible will not only benefit the area but will potentially save you loads. Souvenirs don’t have to mean keychains and t-shirts; a funky piece of art or handmade article of clothing are much more memorable.

Be flexible.

Are you comfortable waiting until late at night or waking up very early in the morning? What if it meant getting a special rate at a museum, attraction, or local landmark? The best deals (and often least crowded attractions) can be found before or after the heat of the day. Drink lots of coffee!

Travel midweek.

If you have the flexibility, flights and hotel rooms are much cheaper on a weekday. Just make sure you don’t hit that rush hour traffic getting to the airport! If you simply have to go on a weekend, why not enter our Dreams competition? Just describe your dream holiday and you could win a 2 night City Break at a luxurious NH hotel!

Eat at odd hours.

Late lunches and early dinners bring with them bargain prices. Early bird specials may traditionally be reserved for the grannies, but on holiday you can certainly make exceptions to fit with your budget. And there are always treats to be found in the wee hours of the morning after you’ve properly enjoyed your night out.

Learn lingo.

Speaking like a native can get you on good terms with the locals, who in turn can tell you about the best-kept secrets in town. Go off the beaten path and explore the local haunts to get a true flavour of your holiday destination. You may find some hidden gems worth remembering.

Yes i really think the last comment about speaking the lingo is true, as it enables you to integrate more, and not get ripped off!
