Cultural Getaway

Start your day in the glorious Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter), a former Roman village. Wander the narrow streets of this fascinating neighbourhood and discover gems such as The Cathedral, the tempting bakeries that can be found in abundance, the infamous ‘Kiss’ mural, and welcoming bars where people watching is a must. Any trip to Barcelona is not complete without a taste of Gaudí, visit the unfinished masterpiece of ¨La Sagrada Familia¨. This church, still under construction, portrays the bridge between ancient and modern architecture and leaves you in awe with the wonderful details the decorate its interior and exterior. Park Guell is another must see by Gaudi, pairing beautiful gardens with stunning architecture.

If you would like to visit a local park, one of the best is definitely Parc de la Ciutadella, dating from the 19th century, and the earliest green space to take form in the city, this 70-acre park has plenty of green space – perfect for a picnic and to take a breath of fresh air.

Time to take the Cable Car stations from the port. This will take to the top of Montjuic, which is a hill in Barcelona overlooking the Barcelona harbor. Check out the Montjuic Castle, with a fascinating history thanks to its past as a fort where battles, architectural renovations and political dealings.

Gastronomic Getaway

It is no secret that Barcelona is a paradise for foodies! Home to the delicious Mediterranean cuisine and tasty tapas bars. Good food is everywhere around the city, but if you are looking for delicious pinchos head to El Born district, with a great atmosphere and that mediterranean feel, you will find amazing gastronomic delights to indulge in. Make sure to try empanadillas, buñuelos, olives and patatas bravas among the other staple tapas of Barcelona. And, of course, accompanied with a refreshing vermouth!
