Madrid, Spain’s culture capital, is chock full of world-class museums, spectacular parks, and delicious Spanish cuisine. See the greatest works of Velazquez, Goya, El Greco, Rafael, and others at Spain’s most famous museum, The Prado. Just a short walk away is Retiro Park where you’ll want to meander through the rose garden, lounge under the tall trees, and row a boat on the lake. For a quick bite, pick up the local favourite, bocadillo de calamares, or squid sandwich.

Madrid’s NH Collection Abascal is located in the Chamberi neighbourhood of the city, which is well known for its restaurants and tapas bars. However, you won’t need to travel far for amazing food choices. The hotel’s restaurant, DOMO, creates typical Spanish dishes with a modern twist, their best dishes being fresh fish, ceviche, and mushroom risotto. Their greatest wonder, The Box, is a unique plate of 10 gourmet delicacies.

Guests can enjoy cocktails and bar treats on the stunning outdoor terrace, right in the heart of the city. Our cocktails are the creation of prestigious Spanish mixologist, Diego Cabrera. If you’re not an early riser, not to worry…NH Collection Abascal features an amazing brunch by 2-Michelin-star chef, Paco Roncero. Amsterdam, The Netherlands – The White Room

Amsterdam is the land of canals, bridges, bicycles, and colourful row houses. Just walking, biking, or boating around is a great way to get to know the city. Tourists in Amsterdam should not miss the Van Gogh museum or the Anne Frank house, which offers a very touching, solemn glimpse into history. For brave travellers (without children), venture into the raunchy Red Light District for some sights that you’ll never forget. And don’t forget to try the fragrant local dish, raw herring.

At NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky on Amsterdam’s central Dam Square, you’ll enjoy the creations of 3-Michelin-star chef, Jacob Jan Boerma. His NHThis restaurant, called The White Room (due to its white colour with gold accents), seeks to delight your taste buds with a mix of “every possible flavour”. Each menu is different, but some offerings include steak tartar, fowl, and peppers with citrus vinaigrette.

Jan Boerma also lends his expertise to the lunch and dinner menus of NH’s Grand Café Krasnapolsky, which offers coffees, speciality teas, homemade pastries, and more. The best part? The Grand Café overlooks the bustling Dam Square, making it easy to people-watch. For a drink, there is no better place than The Tailor Bar, which always pleases guests with cocktails crafted by Tess Posthumus, the World’s Best Female Bartender (2015, 2016).

Prague, Czech Republic – Il Giardino

best nh owned restaurants-prague

Prague is the star city of Eastern Europe, being one of the first spots in this region to gain huge international popularity. Visitors come to see many spectacular sights: the beautiful Prague Castle overlooking the city from its hilltop; the ornate astronomical clock in the Old Town square; the Charles bridge with its jewellery and art vendors. Plus, there is a plethora of Czech tastes to discover, like palačinky, a type of thin pancake served with jam, fruit, or nuts.

When travelling to the Czech capital, tourists can stay at NH Prague City, located in the Smichov neighbourhood on the west bank of the Vitava river. A unique feature of this hotel is its split buildings, one of which is located atop Mrazovka Hill (meaning fantastic city views) and accessed by cable car. And NH Hotel Prague City features two restaurants…and two bars!

The Costa Praga restaurant features traditional Czech food as well as international dishes. Located in the hilltop building, our Il Giardino restaurant serves fine Italian food and wine, giving guests a taste of Italy while they’re in Prague. The Tower Lounge Bar can also be found here, its terrace the perfect place to enjoy drinks late into the night. And your stay wouldn’t be complete with a traditional brunch on the terrace, served every Sunday.

No matter where you travel with NH, you’re guaranteed great rooms, service, and fine dining. Our restaurants always offer the best of what locals have to offer, combined with international favourites…and sometimes a Michelin-star chef! Get ready to #feeltheplace you’re headed next with NH hotels and restaurants.
