Experience Marbella´s Glamour

By Carlota Nelson | 10:30

Marbella is synonymous with luxury, glamour, exclusivity, race cars, haute cuisine and the best beach clubs in Costa del Sol, Spain.  Year after year, the Chic Capital rolls out the red carpet to welcome celebrities, the aristocracy, members of the jet set and the largest congregation of royal family members in the world. Known as the playground for the rich and famous. Depending on their wealth, they come accompanied by their entourage, who helps them settle in for a few weeks to a month each summer. One of Marbella´s most frequent visitors is Saudi Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud whose lavish palace is actually a replica of the White House. Several swimming pools, a helicopter landing pad, a mosque and several villas that house the Prince´s guests make up the luxurious compound.

Puerto Banus is where the rich and famous have their yachts parked so they can easily wander over to the top end boutiques which include Armani, Gucci, Dior, Cartier and Dolce & Gabbana and where seasonal customers are greeted with enviable personalized service and attention.

There are endless top-notch restaurants in Marbella to suit the most demanding palate. From exquisite Mediterranean favourites including Michelin star El Lago to outstanding restaurants that serve international cuisine on behalf of the world´s most prestigious chefs. Skina, Ta-Kumi  and Calima are the names of some of the jet set´s favourites

After lunch, Marbella´s guests of honour usually lay back and enjoy a siesta in order to feel fit for the night.  Some relax by the beach at any of Marbella´s exclusive sexy beach clubs.  Great places to get a massage, have a refreshing G&T and kick back on a hammock.  Marbella´s beach clubs are also an excellent place to begin the night. Greeted with champagne, right on the edge of the sea, the world´s best Dj´s serving up the coolest tunes and non-stop parties. Some of Marbella´s favourites are Nikki Beach (famous for it´s Champagne and Caviar Party in July); Puro, Ocean Club, Sonora and Buddha Beach.

If you can foot the bill, why not take a spin in a Lamborghini, Ferrari or Rolls Royce so you can get to places in style. Most of these exclusive car rentals will treat you to VIP passes that will get you into the best clubs in town.

If you´re ready to take a break from the lavish frenzy, Marbella has a lot to offer in terms of history and culture. Take a stroll thru the narrow, winding streets of Old Town where you´ll discover the remains of a Moorish fortress or the ruins of what were once Roman baths.  Feeling adventurous? Visit Villa Romana, an archaeological site nestled alongside a river. How about taking a tour at the Ralli Museum which houses artwork by Chagall and Dali, amongst others.

If you want to be close to it all, the NH Marbella is just minutes away from the pristine beaches and is located right between the city´s Golden Mile and Puerto Banus, so you´ll have everything at your fingertips.

Another great option is the NH San Pedro de Alcántara that boasts first class junior suites and is ideally located close to the beach and Puerto Banus.  Live like a local and take a ride into the Old Town on a bike, available in the lobby.  Before indulging in Marbella´s nightlife, start off by having a cocktail on the 6th floor terrace.

Both hotels have been awarded with a Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor. This summer travel in style and indulge in a bit of luxury, you’ve earned it!
