This is why summer music festivals are the best!

Yay! Summer is here! Finally, after all this time expecting it to show, long hours of sunlight and swimming in the sea have arrived to our lives. Don’t you feel better just by thinking about tasting a mojito by the beach? And when you are happy, your body simply needs to move, to show all the joy off. Let’s welcome July with the best summer music festivals around.

FIB, Festival Internacional de Benicassim, (from 18th to 21st July) is one of the greatest non-electronic music festivals in Europe. Not as if you cannot listen to whatever you like in the after party but live music is all about rock n’ roll and rock having affairs with pop and a tender punk. Nothing too serious, just a fling; if you play it too commercial or too underground, FIB is not for you.

There’s a camping site close to the concert arena but don’t get late if you want a spot under the shadow, and you want it; temperatures can easily rise up to 30º C early in the morning. If you also appreciate a good shower, a fine mattress and great a meal, we will be waiting for you in our hotels by the coast, NH Mindoro and NH Turcosa. Don’t let a bad night sleep spoil the concert you’ve been expecting for so long.

FIB gathers young music fans from all over Europe, specially from UK since some British music festival merged with FIB looking for sun and no rain during the summer. Lately, some rumors of a new festival for Benicassim arose as Melvin Benn, a powerful British show promoter, met the mayor, which would be n’sync with FIB’s style; The Killers, Artic Monkeys, The Queens of Stone Age or Kings of Leon.

Some of these guys will land in FIB straight from Open’er Festival (3-6.07.2013) in Gdynia, by the Baltic coast of Poland. It’s becoming the greatest summer music festival in Eastern Europe; it was given the award of Best Major Festival by the European Festival Awards in 2009 and 2010 .

Live concert

Live music is not the same since smartphones came into our lives

In Open’er you can choose shows from 4 major stages and some minor ones -this year, one of these is entirely dedicated to Courtney Love. Heineken Open’er Stage is the large one, where you can see Blur or Skunk Anansie. If you want it less common, try the Tent Stage to listen to personal voices like Novika, a referent in Polish club scene, or the psychedelia of Mountain Kimbie. If you’re truly looking for another touch, try Alterklub Stage or the Alter Space. From the refreshing happy tunes of Crystal Fighters to the potent words from the street of Nas. Don’t miss Janelle Monáe!

Cool places to hang around: a chill out zone in an old Soviet hangar and the Red Tent, where drum&bass fills the air all day long.

Poland is a great summer destination, full of interesting cities, good food and things to do. And it is still free of mass tourism. Stay with us in NH Poznan, cute yet sophisticated, to have the perfect base to show every possibility Poland has to offer. Get there before we all notice and enjoy it all for yourself!

Rock Werchter is one of the Big Five Rock Music Festivals in Europe, more than 85,000 visitors a day, and five times proud winner of Best Festival in the World award, last time in 2012.

Rock Werchter is the summer music festival where the biggest names in the business show themselves, along some promising future rock stars. Thirty Seconds to Mars, Depeche Mode, The Hives, Green Day, Vampire Weekend or The Vaccines will be playing out loud in Belgium from the 4th to the 7th of July. Belgium is a small country but is worth visiting every inch. Don’t fail to see Bruges and Ghent and stay with us to get the best accommodation with the best discounts.
